Fine illustrated and well produced book of poems by Dirk Onderwater (1768-1818), printed on thick handmade paper. The fine plates illustrating the poems show two children praying at their father's sickbed, the same two children throwing flowers around the chair where the recovering father is coming to sit, father coming home where mother is preparing the table and the children running to welcome him, two boys playing and one crying because the other is happy playing with much less toys than he himself has, a boy trapped in a tree, and a boy reciting his lesson at the family table.
