VI, 105 pp. Very rare treatise on the soul after death, based on the papers left by Johann Friedrich Oberlin (1740-1826), pastor, teacher, philanthropist and social reformer at the parish Waldersbach (Germany) after his death and edited by the natural scientist and physician Gotthilf Heinrich von Schubert (1780-1860). Schubert, primarily known as a professor in natural science at the university of Munich since 1827, wrote a number of works on natural philosophy and mysticism such as ''Symbolik des Traumes'' and ''Ansichten von der Nachtseite der Naturwissenschaften'', and was a defender of the teachings of Mesmer's animal magnetism. He was interested in the visions of Oberlin on the state of the soul after death. At the end on pp. 93-105 a fragment titled: ''Die Sprache des Wachens''. Fine copy.- (Edges rubbed).
