Rare collection of poems, hymns and other laudatory texts, collected and mostly written by the Dutch priest and humanist Cornelius Musius or Muys (1503-1572). Musius studied and worked for some time in Belgium and France, but from 1538 till his death he was the director of the Monastery of Franciscan Sisters St. Agathe in Delft. Musius wrote several devotional works. The present work contains several poems in Latin in praise of solitude and the monasterical life. It is the only work by Musius that is printed by the Plantin press.
