(16), 456, (6) pp. First and only edition of this important edition of the state publications on public, social and above all legal administration and procedures, issued by the city of Utrecht and the province of Utrecht, together with the extensive commentary by Willem van der Muelen on the original text as promulgated in 1550. The text includes a description of the duties of the officials at court, the procedures, and the crimes and penalties. Willem van der Muellen (1659-1739), Lord of Oudbroekhuysen, Niecop, Portengen, etc. was an important Utrecht magistrate, councillor of the Utrecht Court, and Dean of the Chapter of St. Marie. He was a well-known jurist who wrote several influential works, among which his Ordonnantie ende Instructie op de Stijl ende Maniere van Procederen, voor den Hove van Utrecht, zoo in civile als crimineele zaken (Utrecht 1706-7, 2 dln.) and the present work: "beide van belang" (both important, NNBW). An extensive Register on the last work was published by P.J. de Bye in 1804. Good large-paper copy.- (Binding sl. rubbed; few quires sl. browned).
