First edition of a nicely illustrated children's novel. All conversations and happenings take place with the family Lausbach, where the children are well educated and well instructed by way of discussing occuring events, and by conversations with their  parents on various subjects. Petronella Moens (1762-1843), was a minister's daughter and had become blind at the age of four. She became famous by her novels and books of poetry written for her "women-sisters", but especially for children, mainly for the children of the well-to-do middle class bourgeoisie-class.
