Biographies of two Franciscans, Saint Jacques de la Marche (1391-1476) and Saint François Solan (1549-1610) by an anonymous Franciscan father. The book is divided into two parts, the first being devoted to De la Marche under the title 'Extrait de la vie de Saint Jacques de la Marche, religieux de la reguliere observance de Saint François', concluded with the 'Decret de la canonisation de Jacques de la Marche' in Latin and French (pp. 62-68). De la Marche voyaged to Germany, Danmark, Norway, where he preached with great success.
The second part contains the life of François Solan, under the title 'Extrait de la vie de Saint François Solan, religieux de la reguliere observance de Saint François'. Solan was born in Spain. On the instigation of King Philip II he left for Panama and later to Peru (Lima) to be a missionary. The account tells of his life, education, travels, and activities as a missionary.
