Official French schoolbooks for the Latin lessons at the Military Academy at Paris, the French serial title reading: "Cours d'Etudes, a l'Usage des Eleves de l'Ecole Militaire. IIe. Division: Extraits des Auteurs Latins  en Prose". In the preface the educational value of the teaching of the Latin language to young children is  stressed upon, and the general usefulness of the present collection is pointed out. Short biographies in French are added to each Latin author present. The first 5 volumes here in new edition, published from 1802-1804, and the sixth volume in first edition, from 1789.

Fine complete set.- (Few stains; wormholes at the top of some 25 pages in the 6th volume).
