First edition of this work by Juan Martinez Villergas (1817-1894) containing a description of Cuban habits and customs. The work is divided into four parts embellished with poetical verses. A last part with separate pagination is added, containing a Viaje al pais de Motezuma. The work contains a poetic dedication to the inhabitants of Cuba, signed J.M.V. and dated Habana 20 April 1859.
