Second much improved and enlarged editions of the most popular French-Dutch and Dutch-French dictionaries of the 18th century, first published in 1701 by the French language teacher at Amsterdam, Pierre Marin. The title of the Dutch-French dictionary seems to differ from the French-Dutch one, but at the head of text, the Dutch-French dictionary is called again: "Compleet Nederduitsch en Fransch Woordenboek". They were the most rich and extensive French-Dutch and Dutch-French dictionaries published until then, also including proverbs and popular sayings, and immiately after its publication they were introduced into Dutch schools, and republished all through the 18th century. In Japan, Marin's dictionaries were very popular as well, and the Dutch-French dictionary even served as a model for the Dutch-Japanese dictionary, started by Zenzaburo in the 1730's.
