(Wittenberg), Laurens Seuberlich for Clemens Berger, 1611. 12mo. Paper over boards, preserved in modern slipcase. Title printed in red and black, with 12 woodcuts of 19 chemical instruments and retorts in the text, interesting head- and tailpieces. (24), 189 pp.

Very rare second edition of this chemical and medical work by Philipp Müller (1585-1659), who was professor in Mathematics at Leipzig University and who published several books on mathematics and astronomy, especially on comets. The first edition of this treatise on chemical and medical issues was published in Freiburg in 1610. Apparently the work has had quite a success as there are till 1659 at least eight editions, sometimes under the title Miracula et mysteria chymico-medica.
Copy from the library of Philip Henricus Boeckler at Strassbourg (ex-libris with his coat of arms on the verso of the front cover, engraved by J. Striedbeck). Underneath this ex-libris a handwritten ownership's entry of  'A.J.F. Vigueron, D. Med.'.- (Some staining, and faint browning; repair on p. 97/98 with some lost of text; top edge of front cover partly damaged).
