First edition of the first volume of a series, planned to be published yearly, with educational and entertaining stories, poems, songs, a romance and some fables. The title-story is a biography of Alexander the Great. In their preface the authors explain that the miscellaneous pieces are of various difficulties for all ages inbetween the very small children and older  youth. If more volumes followed is uncertain.
