Three rare Dutch astronomical works; the book by Luchtenburg: no copies found in Dutch public libraries or in any other library

Voorgedragen op een korte, dog volkomene en verstanelijke manier, door nieuwe voorbeelden, en kopere plaaten daar toe dienende verklaard: nevens een geheele nieuwe manier om de tafelen op Mercurius te berekenen; die alle voorgaande in vol-maaktheyd overtreft, spruytende uyt de twee waargenomene samen-stande in de Zon, gedaan by P. (8), 144-55, (5) pp. Three rare and interesting Dutch mathematical and astronomical works bound together. Ad 1: This work on the calculation of the orbit of the sun and its place in the twelve houses of the heaven (1) is extremely rare: no copies could be traced in any library in the world! Also contained in this book are many critical remarks on the calculations as published in the almanacs of the year 1699. The author was a teacher in astronomy, geography and navigation in Rotterdam who has published a number of other works on related subjects. Ad 2: Book on astronomy: the calculations of the orbits of the sun, the moon, the moving and immovable stars and calculations regarding eclipses of the sun and the moon. Added are new calculations of the orbit of Mercury, based on the work of the famous astronomers Petrus Gassendus and Hevelius. The work is by the Amsterdam mathematician and teacher Simon van de Moolen. Ad 3: Important work on the 'impossible' calculation of the geographical longitude at sea: one of the greatest problems of the science of navigation. The author Dirk Jacobsen Slikker, a former shipmaster, now living in Akersloot, a village north of Amsterdam, argues that the problem is insolvable. The last two works are published by Joannes Loots, a famous printer/publisher of maps, charts and globes in Amsterdam. His shop was called 'De jonge Lootsman' (the young pilot). Good copy with library stamp from the Royal library at Berlin and with the bookplate of José G. Herrera Alcala at the back of the front board.- (Spine damaged, tear in table of (1); some browning, esp. in the plates of (2); lacking p.145-52 of (3)).
