Caesar-Augustae (= Zaragossa), Heirs of Didacus Dormer, 1695. Small 4to. Contemporary limp vellum; spine lettered in ink; rests of ties. Leaves from a 15th or 16th century printed book used as fly-leaves. Title in border of typographical flowers; printer's device on p.122; printed tables. (24), 156, (2) pp.

Very rare first and only edition of this 'cabalistic' work on arithmetics in a theological sense by the Sanish Franciscan Jéronimo de Lorte et Escartin. Numerical values are given, for instance, to each letter of the alphabeth in a specific way, to establish a kind of secret writing.

Good copy. - (Some insignificant browning at places).
Palau 142518; no copy mentioned in the Britsh Library or in any of the Dutch and German libraries; NUC mentions only one copy in the UL of Wisconsin, Md.
