Popular schoolbook to teach children in the Southern Netherlands both the French and the Dutch language. Apart from grammar and syntax, the children are taught every-day conversation in dialogues, the writing of letters in both languages, proverbs and sayings, and inbetween also good manners and how to behave in high society. In the preface some special advice is given to the teacher, stressing the  importance of grammar, and of right pronunciation and  orthography. The teacher should also see to it that his pupils learnt lessons by heart.
