Contemporary full mottled calf, new spine blind tooled in compartments wityh a red morocco label lettered in gold, marbled endpapers; edges painted red. Very rare original edition of this interesting work on commerce and merchants, commercial aritmetic, interest, change, arbitration and bookkeeping. The author, born at the beginning of the eightteenth century in Bayonne was, before he settled down as a merchant in Lyon, in the service of the Count of Maurepas and the Chevallier de Caylus in which capacity he has procured the liberation of no less than 75 French slaves in Morocco. In 1758 a second edition appeared.
