Contemporary half, green morocco with marbled boards, gilt and ribbed spine, top gilt, orig. wrappers preserved (E.P. VAN BOMMEL?). With 11 etchings by Marie Laurencin. (8), 181 pp. Original edition of one the most beautiful works by Jacques de Lacretelle (1888-1985), printed at only 325 copies, charmingly illustrated by Marie Laurencin. The present copy is one of 275 copies printed on velin de Cuve of Marais. Marie Laurencin (1885-1956) an important French female artist of the 1920's and she is best known for her delicate, stylish, avant-garde designs for sets and costumes for the Ballet Russe directed by Serge Diaghilev. Very fine copy.
