First edition of a very early and highly interesting collection of Jesuit letters, issued from India, Ethiopia and South-east Asia, written between 1556 and 1558. The collection contains nine letters from Jesuits in these regions, all of them printed here for the first time, providing the reader with a wide-ranging overview of the Jesuit overseas activities, including many interesting references to the situation in Japan and China. Many data provided by these letters are only known through this early publication of Jesuit reports.

After the title, dedication to the duchess of Urbino Vittoria Farnese dalla Rovere, and the contents, the collection consists of:
- f. 1r-14v: Letter of P. Baldassar Diaz, Malacca, India, 17 November 1556 to the Jesuits in Europe.
- f. 14v-15r: Letter written in Ormuz, 8 July 1557 to a Jesuit.
- f. 15r-30r: Letter of Luigi Frois , Goa, 30 November 1557.
- f. 30v-36v: Letter of the rector of the Jesuits at Goa, 12 December 1557.
- f. 37r-41v: Letter of Melchior Carnero, bishop of Goa, 24 December 1557.
- f. 42r-53r: Letter of Melchior Nugnez, Coccin, India, 8 January 1558.
