Latin translation of a famous fierce anti-Jesuit pamphlet

Original and only edition of the Latin translation of the French original of a fierce pamphlet against the Jesuits, first published in Leiden, by the heirs of Jan Nicolas van Dorp in 1648, by Pierre Jarrige (1605-1660), a former professor in rhetoric at Bordeaux and once a Jesuit himself. The title of the French original is Les iesvistes mis sur l'eschafaut, povr plusieurs crimes capitaux par eux commis dans la province de Guienne. Further editions appeared in 1649 (attributed to the Elzevier press ; cf. Willems 1655), Paris in 1649 (Sabin 35792), and in 1659, 1676 and 1677.
The pamphlet was immediately translated into Dutch by 'E.I.V.': De jesuyten op't schavot. Om veel gruwelycke misdaden, door hen in de provintie Guienne bedreven (Amsterdam 1648), with a second edition in 1678. Also English and German translations followed in 1658 and 1665.
Since 1623 a novice of the Jesuits Pierre Jarrige converted to Protestantism in 1647 and condemned to death he fled to Holland in the same year. In 1650 he went to Antwerp.
In this 'classic' and vehement pamphlet against his former brothers and the Jesuits and their crimes in Guyana Jarrige accuses them for all kind of crimes, including child-murder, sexual escapades, etc.
Good copy, with ownership's entry in ink on inside front cover ''Johannes Clenaii, Lunenburgensis'', ownership's entry in ink ''Nicolai Isenfeld'' on title, and signature in pencil on first fly-leaf of Bengt Löw.- (Frontispiece lacking).
