Rare set of the complete drawing course for Dutch primary schools by three drawing teachers. Each portfolio is meant for one grade, from the first to the seventh grade. At the time children obligatory had to attend school till the age of fourteen, and when not passing through to secondary teaching, which only the children of the rich could afford, they had to stay in primary schools for at least seven years. Compared with the drawing courses taught in the 19th and the early 20th century, not to speak of the 17th and 18th century, the present course is rather simple, for the first four grades mainly consisting of single objects, and only in the seventh grade the drawings are fully finished, including background sketching. The drawings then include a car and an early airoplane, even a parachutist. Size of the plates of the first four maps is ca. 17,5 x 12 cm., and of the last three maps ca. 23 x 15 cm.
