New edition, richly illustrated, of children's poems by Pieter 't Hoen, including some fables in verse as well. The fine engraved plates were produced by the same artists who illustrated Hoen's "Nieuwe Proeve van Kleine Gedichten voor Kinderen". They are of special interest, showing children's games and scenes from children's daily life, giving a good impression of the customs and costumes of the day, a.o. one showing an original view into a classroom as it must have looked at the time.
