(12), 141 (r. 143), 25 pp. First edition, first issue of this luxurious Elzevier edition and of this important account of the siege and capture of 's-Hertogenbosch in 1629 by Frederik Hendrik of Orange. Fine illustrated with maps and plans. At the end the terms of the Peace-Treaty for both the bishop of 's-Hertogenbosch, and the commandant of the city, Baron De Grobbendonck. Daniel Heinsius (1580-1656), the well-known professor of poetry and classical literature at Leiden University, most beloved pupil of Scaliger, friend of Grotius, Vossius and Barlaeus, father of Nicolaas Heinsius and the most famous Neo-Latin poet of the Dutch Golden Age.
