Second edition of a popular manual on collecting prints and on various masters of the print, by William Gilpin. The book gives a general introduction into the genre as well as advices to beginning collectors. Gilpin discusses the style of artists like Romeyn de Hooghe, Lairesse, Picart, Hondius and Van Thulden.
The first Dutch edition was published as Verhandeling over prenten (Rotterdam, P. en J. Holsteijn, 1787), a German edition appeared  in 1771.
