Leiden, J.W. van Leeuwen, 1829. Nineteenth century half blue morocco, spine ribbed and gilt. (6), 116 pp.

Interesting thesis of Willem Theodorus Gevers Deynoot (Rotterdam 1808- The Hague 1879) concerning herring fishery in the Low Countries and the laws and legislation which are applicable here as well as internal cooperation and foreign relations. After his studies Gevers Deynoot became a.o. a lawyer in The Hague, member of the town-council in Rotterdam and member the States General .There he mainly discussed economical subjects, waters and fishery.
What makes this copy of de Gevers Deynoots thesis special is that it belonged to Professor of anatomy and medicine W. Vrolik (1801-1863). His 'Vrolik Museum' was and is well known for its collection of anatomical, zoological and teratological preparations.

Fine copy.- (Name of Vrolik in handwriting on lable on the french title-page).
