Second edition of this charming introduction for the young scholar to the principal nations of the world, by the still unidentified author of the "Bible en estampes" and "Musée de l'Enfance", Mme H***. It contains a brief description of the countries and their languages, customs, culture and fauna. Each plate contains an example of the local peoples in national dress, and a strange and amusing depiction of the local fauna. The first edition was published in 1821, the third in 1826.
