Dictionary of games, mainly table games and party games, but also including some outdoor sports and ball games. The plates, engraved by P. Scattaglia, show table games, like chess, billiards, dominoes, different games of goose, land and sea war games, geographical game, card games, etc.  Alphabetically arranged some eighty games are described with all their rules and special terminology.
Together with the volume on conjuring tricks and scientific and mathematical games, it formed part of the "Encyclopédie Méthodique", an enormous project, arranged and published according to subjects between 1792 and 1823. The present part on games and pastimes was the only one published separately in Italy.
