First edition of a treatise on flatulent gas and its discomforts in the human body, written by the Antwerp physician Joannes Fienus (or Fyens) (d. 1585). Fienus was born in Turnhout, Belgium, and probably studied medicine at the University at Leuven. He describes the causes of the winds a.o. particular food and climate and investigates the organs and places where the gas emerges. He also suggests a wide range of cures and remedies for the flatulence. The treatise was reprinted at Heidelberg in 1589 and 1592. In Amsterdam it was published  by J. Janssonius in 1643.
