First edition of this important history of Canada by the Abbé Faillon, based on official documents and unpublished archival sources. Faillon spent seven years in Canada, returning three times to verify and complete his notes. His meticulous research resulted in the present Histoire, which far surpasses Charlevoix's earlier Histoire de la Nouvelle France in scope and depth.
