Elaborate work on forgery by Paul Eudel (1837-1907), beginning with a short historical survey of forgery, then describing forgeries in various fields such as antiquities, military objects, manuscripts and printed books, paintings, engravings and prints, bank notes, sculpture, ceramics, musical  instruments, coins, jewelry, tapistry, literary forgery and mystification. Eudel himself possessed a large collection of silver which was sold at Paris  in 1884. He wrote many books, like one on collections and collectors, and published auction catalogues of antique porcelain, art, jewels and prints.
