First Dutch edition of a famous German work, "Ideen zu einer Mimik", in which are discussed, in the entertaining form of letters, the meaning of all sorts of human mime and gestures, including the interpretations given to them in literature and in art through history. The work is intended for use of public speakers, including ministers, school teachers, etc., also for actors, professional or otherwise, and for all artists as well. The beautiful illustrations, showing a wide range of expressive  gestures and postures, were newly made for the present Dutch edition.

Fine set.
