First edition of this pocket atlas of the Netherlands with attractively coloured maps. The introduction deals with geography in general, and also gives a description of the different parts of the Netherlands. The atlas opens with two distance tables for Dutch cities, followed by a world map, maps of the four continents, all updated in accordance with the latest discoveries of Captain Cook, and maps of individual provinces of the Dutch Republic and the Southern Netherlands. The world map is dated 1785, and the first five maps are normally signed by the engraver A. v. Krefelt. However, his name has been removed on 4 out of 5 maps in this copy.
Koeman lists two copies of this atlas, one in the library of the university of Utrecht and another in the library of the Ministry of Defence in The Hague. A second edition appeared in 1786.
