First and only edition of a collection of four historical works edited by Henricus Carolinus van Byler (1692-1756), preacher at Scherpenzeel  at Friesland. The book starts with an introduction by Byler and an index on pp. 3-20. The first part contains a reprint of a historical work on Portugal (pp. 1-80)  by Joseph Texeira (1543-1620) titled  De Portugalliae ortu, regni initiis in Latin (first published in 1582) followed by Kurze Anzeig aufz was ehafften, und erheblichen Ursachen der durchleuchtigt, und machtigst Furst Antonius in Portugal, with text in German on pp. 81-91.
The second part is a day-to-day account titled Brevis et fida narratio et continuatio rerum omnium Drako et Norreysio, post felicem ex Occidentalibus insulis reditum, in sua expeditione Portugallenis singulis diebus gestarum on  the 1589 expedition to Portugal by Sir Frances Drake, Vice Admiral, navigator and privateer (1540-1596) and John Norreys ( Norris), commander of the troops, in order to defeat the Spanish fleet and capture the port of Lisbon on pp. 93-136.
The third part is titled Serinissimorum Principum electorum palatinorum rheni prosapia, natales et series, cum brevi prosopographia ab Otthone Witthelsbachio ad Fridericum V. Electorem regem Bohmiae deducta; nunc primum ex autographo illustrissimi principis Friderici Henrici, laudatissimi ac serenissimi Bohemorum regis Friderici principis electoris palatini primogeniti filii edita. (pp. 137-251), with a chronological overview and biographies of the Counts Palatine starting with Ottho of Wittelsbach till Frederik V, collected from the manuscripts of Fredrik V, the Winterking and edited by his son Frederik Henry, Prince of Bohemia. Also is mentioned the founding history of the Heidelberg university. The last part is written by Georg Sohn (1551-1589), theologian and titled: Georgii Sohniii ...oratio historica de fundatione et conservatione laudatissimae Academia Heidelbergensis (pp. 253-299), on the founding history of the university of Heidelberg.
