Very rare only edition of this work on the geology, geography, politics and economy of the Southern Netherlands (now Belgium), which were from 1715 till 1795 part of the Habsburg Empire. Special attention is given to the trade and commerce on the river Schelde. The map is drawn and produced after the original design by Crome and dated 1785. The folding table gives an overview of the sieges and captures of the cities in the Southern Netherlands by the French, during the years 1744-1748.
August Friedrich Wilhelm Crome (1753-1833) studied theology in Halle, after which he teached history and geography at the university of Dessau, and from 1787 until 1831 political economy at the university of Giessen.
