Third Aldus edition of the complete rhetorical works of Cicero, including the anonymous 'Ad Herennium', which was often ascribed to Cicero, edited and corrected by Aldus' son and successor Paulus Manutius and here published in two parts; part 2 has its own title-page and could also be sold separately. The first edition appeared in 1546 and was reprinted in 1550. Contents: Part 1: - f. 1: Title (verso blank). - ff. 2-72: Rhetoricorum ad C. Herennium lib. IV; ff. 73-146: Cicero's De inventione lib. II. - ff. 147-162r: Ad C. Trebatium Topica. - ff. 162v-184: De partione oratoria dialogus (f. 184v: colophon). Part 2: - f. 1: Title (verso blank). - ff. 2-4: Preface: dedication letter by Paulus Manutius to Joannes Monlucius, orator of the Venetian republic, dated Venice, 1546. - ff. 5-137r: De oratore lib. III. - ff. 137v-194r: Brutus. - ff.194v- 236: Ad Marcum Brurum orator. - ff. 237-240: De optimo genere oratorum (f. 240v: colophon). Good copy with some contemporary marginal annotations, part one with old ownership's entries of 'Cesare Fedele' and 'Gio: Paolo Fedeli (Fidele)'.- (Both parts somewhat thumbed).
