Met de voordeelen van het destilleren, verwen, zeepzieden, styfselmaken, kottoenspinnen en maken van kunstgesteenten, die na de natuurlyke gelyken, schilderen met water- en oli-verw, 't maken van bajen en stoffen voor deze en andere landen, van turf, steen, enz. De middlen, waar van zich kooplieden bedienen, om groten handel te dryven, en waar van Engelsen, Hollanders, enz. gebruik gemaakt hebben in den handel met paarden, geiten, schapen, enz. Alles, wat handwerkslieden, tuiniers, wyngaardniers, kooplieden, winkeliers, bankiers, kommissarissen, overheden, officiers van 't Gerecht, edellieden, geestelyken en andere luiden van aanzien, in de eerste bedieningen doen moeten, om zich welvarende te maken.

The first edition in Dutch of the most popular domestic encyclopaedia of agriculture and house-keeping of the 18th century, by Noel Chomel (1632-1712), French agronomist, entrusted with the domestic management of the possessions of the abbey at Vincennes, where he acquired all the knowledge necessary for a rural exploitation. The work was published in parts, 5 for the first volume and 5 for the second volume. Folding engraved plates illustrate the process of distilling, the art of measuring and domestic chemistry. Under the S one also finds the "Secrets" which include water divination, how to extract gold from gilt frames and the "secrets of Hippocrates". Other engravings depict garden designs, plants and even a design for a fire-place. Most of the eighty folding engraved plates, however, illustrate the catching of birds, fish and animals- not only rabbits and hare, but also wolves and foxes, all by means of a wide variety of catching devices and complicated machines. Advice on the keeping and caring of domestic animals is found as well, and recipes for food and home medicines are given, as well as popular "secrets" to keep one's beauty and health. The work in fact teaches everything to be self-supporting, including producing things for the market. The work was very popular all through the 18th century all through Europe, and also in Japan, where the Dutch translation was much in use. It was even translated in Japanese in the early 19th century.
