First edition of this book on the Museum of Natural History in Paris, founded by Louis XIII in 1635, lavishly illustrated with 15 handcoloured plates of flowers and birds, portraits of early directors of the museum, double-page engraved views and plans etc. by Paul Antoine Cap (1788-1877), whose real name was Paul-Antoine Gratacap.
