Second revised Dutch edition, with three extra stories added, of one of Campe's very popular instructive reading books for children. Joachim Heinrich Campe (1746-1818), a famous German pedagogue, who had been the teacher of Alexander and Wilhelm von Humboldt, in 1787 became director of the publishing and  bookseller's office of the Orphanage at Braunschweig, later the "Braunschweigische Schulbuchhandlung", and published a large number of educational books, including the famous "Robinson der Jüngere". Chapter 29 accounts of Captain Cook's last voyage. Chapter 12 is about the 'humanity' of the American Native from the Abenaki tribe.
