Dutch translation of an Italian manual on varnishing

Rare original Dutch edition of this interesting manual on varnishing by the Italian Jesuit Filippo Buonanni (1638-1725). The original Italian edition appeared in 1720 with the title Trattato sopra la vernice detta comunemente cinese. The French translation by A.J. Dezallier, from which this Dutch traslation was made, was printed in 1723.
Buonanni was a Jesuit who studied geology, astronomy and physics. He has published many scholarly works and was a collegue and collaborator of the famous Athanasius Kirchner.
