Popular schoolgrammar for use at Belgian primary schools at the time of the Belgian Union with the Netherlands. Jan Abraham ter Bruggen, a member of the Belgian variant of the Dutch "Maatschappij tot Nut van 't Algemeen", had already published a children's A B book, and a first reading and spelling book. In the present first grammar the alphabet is given at the beginning of the book in 7 different lettertypes. Together with the second part it represents the complete primary course on Dutch grammar. For the spelling, however, the author sticks to the Flemish variant in spite of the political union, and to illustrate the difference he gives long lists of words in the new Dutch spelling by Siegenbeek next to the same words in the spelling by the Flemish linguist Des Roches. The first part is in the 3rd enlarged and corrected edition, and the second in the first edition.
