Warmond, H.J.T. Matveld, (1853). Orig. red half cloth, with blue papered covers with title within a richly lithographed border printed in gold on front cover, and small gilt vignette on back cover. With 8 full-page richly illustrated lithographed plates, all finely coloured by hand. 36 pp.

Beautiful children's picture and reading book in prose and verse on the theme "East, West, Home is Best" by Lambrecht van den Broek (1805-1863). The charming plates show a larger scene in the middle, like young ladies painting or walking with small children in the garden, or a boy with his dog, etc., surrounded by numerous smaller illustrations of animals, ships, costumes, an indian, a pirate, etc. On one plate, the  theme is music, with in centre a girl having a piano-lesson. Another is about children of the manor, etc.
