Fine produced A B book for German primary schools, composed for group-teaching after a newly invented method by the Rector of the Gymnasium at Zug. In a short preface on verso title the method is explained to the teacher, after which the book starts with various alphabets in capitals and lower case. In the following spelling-tables words grow from two and three letters into full words. The reading exercises then are divided in sections, first 10 pages with readings on the world, man, and animals, all of one syllable words only, than a large section of 20 pages with reading exercises on God, Jesus, human life, professions, etc. in two syllable words, with division marks, followed by a few pages of readings in three or more syllable words, also divided by division marks.
After that general reading exercises follow in questions and answers, riddles, fables, etc, but still with division marks to all two or more syllable words, except for the four last pages with children's prayers. Although the book must have enjoyed at least a regional popularity, here already being in its 18th edition, now first adorned with charming woodcuts, we could not find any record  of it. Meant for use at schools it consequently must be most rare.

Fine copy.- (First lvs. sl. waterst.).
Not in NUC.
