Beautifully hand-coloured travel book for children. The hero of the story, Ivo Wijnendaal from Egmond aan Zee, goes to sea when still a young boy. His ship discovers and explores an unknown island, O-ronoo, where Ivo finds a friend and life-long companion in the primitive native Onaida. At the end, after shipwrecks, seabattles, and a brillant career, Ivo becoming a vice-admiral, he returns home and settles at Egmond aan Zee with his friend Onaida. The publisher's addres, a famous House of catchpenny prints, is only found underneath the lithograph on back cover.
Good copy of a rare popular book.- (Binding sl. rubbed; sl. thumbed).
