The plates illustrate the discovery of the wheel, the invention of cloth and weaving, of the alphabet and writing, of glass steam, engraving, and music, etc. Other subjects treated are navigation, weapons, printing, paper, porcelain, clocks, electricity, air balloons, playing cards, painting, lithography, photography, etc.
