Original boards, with lithographed title on front cover, set within richly illustrated borders with a one-legged beggar, plants and all sorts of animals, like a monkey looking at a picture book in centre of lower border. With 12 full-page lithographed plates, incl. title, with illustrations of trades and professions with a four-line poem underneath, all richly and very beautifully coloured by hand. (12) lvs., versos blank.

Entirely lithographed and beautifully hand-coloured picture book for children, published by the well-known publishers of chapbooks and catchpenny prints, GlĂ©nisson & Van Genechten at Tournai in Belgium. The title-plate shows a painter at work, and further depicted are a vinegrower, a bird catcher, a ship in full sail, a bee-hive, a hunter with his dog, a stone-cutter,  a gardener, a fisherman, a shepherd, a woman selling fruit, and  a woman spinning with a cat lying at her feet.

Mint copy, with ms. note in pencil stating the book to have been given as a present to Anna van Beijma by her Aunt Fokel, in 1844.
