With 6 full-page lithographed plates, all nicely coloured by hand. XII, 112 pp. Nicely illustrated children's book of poems. In his preface, the author discusses the merits and requirements of children's poems, acknowledging Van Alphen as the indisputable Father of children's poetry, not easily to equal. But Van Alphen's collections of children's poems were written for the very young, so the author is confident that the present collection will serve the same purpose for somewhat older children. Here only the first part is present. One of the plates shows several children's games. Fine copy.
