(Germany, ca. 1850). Sm.8vo. Orig. green wrappers, with lithographed title and illustration of a little boy painting on front cover, set within ornamental borders, and lithographed illustration of a girl having an accident with her doll carriage on back cover. Charming colouring book for children, probably published in Germany for a wide market, as the title is given in seven languages: German, Dutch, French, English, Danish, Spanish and Russian. One of the illustrations show a finger-post with the text "Nach Heidelberg" (To Heidelberg), which apart from the first and largest printed German title seems definitely to point to the book's German origin.

Fine copy.
Hauswedell 200, Alte deutsche Kinderbücher, 305a (same title in German, French and English) not in Die Bilderwelt, etc.
