New edition of the very popular 18th century "Kleine Print-Bijbel", a hieroglyphical bible for children, first published in 1720. Although modernized in printing and in the design of the illustrations the present "Kleine Beeldenbijbel" is still firmly based on the original "Kleine Print-Bijbel", with the same quotations chosen for each rebus. Even one of the 18th century printer's devices, that of Dirk onder de Linden, is used on title. The differences are that six plates were omitted as less suitable for youth, the 2-line verses underneath were replaced by modern verse, and some smaller changes where made, all by J.C. Sikkel, who also wrote the introduction. At the end as usual the solutions are given.
