Third edition, in French, from the Southern Netherlands, of a famous imaginary voyage, telling of the pelgrimage of two sisters, Colombelle and Volontairette, to Jesusalem, the one sister lucky and happy, the other sister only meeting with misadventure and accidents. It is mainly printed in Roman type with the comments in Italics, and richly illustrated with Boetius à Bolswert's (1550-1633) allegorical plates in copper-engravings showing the strange people and accidents the sisters encountered.
The book  is dedicated to the young ladies and its language is brought up to date. The approbation for the French translation is dated 1636. The first edition in French was published in Antwerp, 1636. The second in Brussels, 1684. The book remained popular in both the Northern and the Southern Netherlands for centuries, and was also popular in France.
