First edition of a popular book of verse for children by Francijntje de Boer, a Frisian domestic servant and housekeeper (Harlingen 1784-Heerenveen 1852), who  openly claimed Hieronymus van Alphen and Fenna Mastenbroek to be her inspiring examples. On page 39 of the present poem-book a charming children's poem in memory of Van Alphen is found. Francijntje de Boer's children's poems became rather popular, and in 1835 a French translation was published at Maastricht by A. Claraveau, to which a short biography of the author was added.
