First edition of this famous manual on fencing. The author was the son of the famous fencing master that anonymously published an essay against the treatise of Guillaume Danet, in 1766. He opposed his father with his reforms in the art of fencing, and laid the foundations of the fencing methods perfected by Jean-Louis.
