Last and rare work by the famous Dutch ichthyologist Pieter Bleeker (1819-1878), on the fish found around the island of Mauritius, published by the Dutch Royal Academy of Sciences. (Natuurk. verh. der koninkl. akademie, deel XVII). Bleeker is best known as the author of the very important, Atlas ichthyologique des Indes Orientales Néerlandaises, 9 vols. (Amsterdam, 1862-78), with 420 chromolithographes, also by Speigler.
